How's it going everyone?!? Well it's finally here - my personal favorite festival has rolled back around. Hot wings! Hot wings! And more hot wings! If you can't tell I'm a big fan of wings and that is why I love this event so much. Not only that, but it's for a good cause. It benefits the Ronald McDonald House. What up Carol Matthews!? (She's a personal friend of the site, sorry)
Anyway, some members of Nerd901 will be there. It won't be too hard to spot us. We will be the ones in nerdy tees. Stop us and say hello if you want. We would love to meet you.
I decided that to coincide with this wonderful time of the year I would mention a few wing places that I consider the creme of the crop around the city. I tend to eat there more times than I would probably care to admit. I can't help it! They are delicious! If you feel up to it, leave a quick comment and let me know where your favorite wing joint is.
Again you should come downtown this weekend and swing into the Southern Hot wing fest; enjoy some great wings and support Ronald McDonald House!!
These are in no particular order:
This local establishment just recently got named as a top 15 place in America for wings by Men's Journal. That's right, owner John Yacoubian is proud to be in that position, I'm sure. If you're ever in there, say hello to him. He's a nice guy and loves to talk to his customers. As far as menu goes, there are three main things on the list. Wings, chicken tenders, or catfish. So stop by, grab a beer, and I highly recommend the wings!

2) D'bo's Wings n' More
This is one of my personal favorite places in Memphis. I have been going to D'bo's for a very long time and I have never had a bad wing from there before. They're not known for their comfortable decor or inviting atmosphere, so I typically grab them on the go. As a matter of fact, any time we have an event planned, they're my go to platter; whether it's a wrestling PPV, football game, or just a good ole' fashion get together. You can count on me to bring plenty of wings from D'bo's to feed the masses.

3) Ching's Hot Wings
I would assume when people mention hot wings in Memphis, one of the first places people think of has got to be Ching's. And of course why not!? The wings there are fried to damn near perfection. I love the crunch of a good crispy wing. They have an assortment of sauces and rubs and they all slather perfectly on top of that golden crisp crunch.
(Honey golf and Hot)
When people think Belmont they quickly think of their great burgers. Well not me! Nope, I go right to their fantastic wings. Oh you didn't know!? Well now you don't have an excuse. You have got to try them next time you are there. They are 6 whole wings fried and covered in hot sauce. But little secret here (that isn't much of a secret) ask them for their Honey Gold. Man, it may be the best Honey Gold around. I know Nerd901 member Chris wouldn't argue this choice at all! Seriously, next time you're in there put down the burger and order up some wings!
Well that's about it folks. I think the list will stop at an even 4. The reason being is we want your feedback! I could go on for hours talking about all the wings in the city and listing them here. Hell I know i left several off the list. But we want a few from you guys! Though let me take a step back real fast and slide in a dark horse. Lafayette's Music Room. I know, it's strange to think you would find a good wing there. The truth is though, you can! Their Voodoo wings are pretty damn good. Tossed in their molasses lime sauce and with plenty of meat on the bone, it's a wing any wing fan would be proud to chow down. Now you fellow Memphians let us hear your voice. Leave a quick comment or tweet @nerd901 to give your thoughts. Thanks for checking this out everyone! We really appreciate it! Again if you are down at the Southern Hot Wing Fest and you spot a Nerd901 member. Just say hey! Though be careful you may end up with wing sauce on you! All the best!!
