It's 2017, and it looks like this is going to be a good year for gaming. Here are some games we are excited about in 2017!
1. Horizon: Zero Dawn
Developed by Guerrilla Games, creators of the Killzone series, Horizon: Zero Dawn puts you in control of a huntress in a vast open world. Filled with robots resembling animals and dinosaurs, the world boasts almost primitive humans and highly advanced "wildlife". Launches February 28th.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
As a huge Legend of Zelda and Elder Scrolls fan, this game holds so much potential. What we've seen of the game has been very promising. Players will be able to freely explore the world, and unlike previous Zelda games, players will be able to tackle the dungeons in any order. This will be a perfect game to pair with the Nintendo Switch. Launches Q2 or Q3 2017
3. Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect was an instant classic in the scifi genre, and Bioware is hoping to recreate that magic with the newest iteration on the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda. This game takes place in our neighboring galaxy of Andromeda, and offers excellent storytelling, combat, dialog, and exploration. Launches March 21st.
4. Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom
The first Ni No Kuni was a wonderful, charming game with a great story and fun combat. The new story focuses on a boy's journey to become king. The animation will not be done by Studio Ghibli like the first, but the art direction is the same. Launches 2017.
5. Persona 5
After jumping into the series with Persona 4, I'm excited for Persona 5. Atlus is fantastic with their character development. The series makes you care about the characters' social lives, and the overall supernatural story. Already available in Japan, this game launches on April 14th.
6. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
A direct sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, this game comes packed with all of the jokes and social humor you expect from South Park, as well as a finely-crafted, turn-based battle system. Players control the new kid again who must pick a side in a superhero civil war. Launches early 2017.
