It’s been an entire month since Insomniac released Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4. I’ve struggled with exactly how I wanted to write about the game. I felt it best to give it some time. Let it really sink in, and not be too caught up in the moment. And, I can undoubtedly say Spider-Man PS4 hits the mark! Every other conference went through the normal rigmarole of trotting out developers to discuss the games, or have awkward, clearly scripted gameplay demos. Sony didn’t bother with all of that this year. Shawn Layden, the Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios (Sony’s gaming arm), introduced a few games accompanied by an orchestra, but for the most part Sony let the games speak for themselves.
